Hi there! My name is Craig Bickford and I have been a rabid gamer for over 25 years starting with a Commodore Vic-20! Boy those were the days weren’t they? I haven’t felt that really awesome sense of anticipation wating for the next coolest game to come out for years and years. Games today may be technical marvels with a budget and a cast of stars to rival a feature movie but they don’t generate the feelings I used to have for games back when I was a kid. I spend more time playing “retro” games then I do playing modern games. Over the years, I have amassed a very large collection of games that are now considered “retro”. I still have my Commodore-64. Company names like Strategic Simulations Inc, Sierra, MicroProse, and Spectrum Holobyte conjure up some really great memories for me. Say them out loud and it’s only a matter of minutes before I am on the computer digging up some oldies but goodies!

Out of my love for retro computer games comes Retro Computer Gamer – my blog/eZine/portal website. I am going to be adding original content from myself and hopefully some quality retro games related content submitted by you – my readers. We’re going to be talking about our favorite games, our favorite systems, our favorite game commercials, our favorite game ads – we’re not only going to be TALKING about this stuff but I’m going to be putting up graphics, videos, sound bytes and more to SHOW you this stuff. Links to other retro games related website – perhaps even some abandonware? I really want this site to become THE retro games website not only for the casual fan but also for the avid collectors as well. Game collecting is my biggest hobby and I want to share that with all of you. I plan to have a RCG classified ads section strictly for retro game related stuff (i.e. collectors looking for certain games and people selling them) as well as a retro gaming forum. Perhaps even a retro game auction site or store – not sure there yet. If you have any ideas on that – let me know. In fact, if you have any thoughts or ideas on the RCG website at all – please drop me a line.
